Paris
Child Care Inc. is a non-profit corporation which has been carrying
on business in Paris since 1987. We have been proud to provide quality
child care services to hundreds of families since then.
We have three Child Care locations. One is a converted Victorian mansion at 199 Grand
River Street North in Paris. The other's are within the Holy Family School
at 20 Sunset Drive in Paris, and Sacred Heart School at 180 Grandville Circle in Paris.
Although our other locations are in a school operated by the Brant County
Roman Catholic Separate School Board, we are in a completely separate
wing which we rent. Paris Child Care is not connected with any denomination
and we accept children from all religious backgrounds. We also operate off-site school-age programs at various schools in Paris, On.
CHILD CARE CHOICES
The same child care choices will not appeal to everyone, and all parents
need to be able to have enough information to make the choice which
is best for them. We recognize that, especially for parents who are
new to licensed child care, making this choice can be particularly stressful.
Please feel free to contact either of our centres to discuss your needs.
We are more than happy to help, even if you ultimately choose to go
elsewhere.
OUR MISSION
At Paris Child Care, Inc, we strive to be a leader in the provision of quality child care programs, delivered by professional and caring staff to the families of Paris and the surrounding communities.
Our inclusive child care centres provide a warm and loving atmosphere and focus on the child's total growth and development. Professionally trained and sensitive staff ensure the program reflects the individual development of each child and encourages exploration in a safe and accepting environment. Our goal is for each child to learn to play and grow with equal opportunity and to develop open attitudes to our diverse community. Children are provided with the opportunity to stimulate self-esteem and problem-solving abilities; interaction with and respect for others; physical activity that develops gross motor skills; fine motor skills; curiosity, initiative and independence. Programs are re-evaluated often to reflect the changing needs of children.
The
Day Nurseries Act
Paris Child Care is governed by the Provincial Day Nurseries Act. This
Act provides rigorous standards which must be met by all child care
centres in Ontario.
These regulations are mostly designed to ensure the health and safety
of children. For example, there are regulations that set minimum standards
regarding the physical environment of centres, fire and safety procedures,
hygiene and cleanliness practices, nutritious meal planning, and policies
dealing with child illness. There are other regulations which relate
to helping children develop and learn. Based on research into child
development, these regulations deal with matters such as staff-child
ratios, staff qualifications, training, and planning for outdoor and
indoor play. Another example of a regulation that relates to positive
child development is the one which forbids staff in child care centres
to treat children in a way that is demeaning or that undermines a child's
self-confidence.
When you place your child with a centre operated under the requirements
of the Day Nurseries Act, you can rest easy and be sure that your child
will be receiving quality care at a facility which is under regular
and strict supervision by government inspectors.
